Small Stories. Big Impact.

In the years that I have lived, I’ve felt almost every emotion known to man: excitement, fear, hope, rejection, betrayal… you name it. But this story isn’t really about emotions, at least not today. That first line is just a backdrop for a deeper frustration I’ve carried as a follower of Jesus Christ. It’s not about unanswered prayers or unmet expectations (although trust me, those ones exist lol). It’s the weight of watching how poorly we’ve often communicated the Gospel of Jesus Christ; not for lack of zeal, because passion doesn’t always equal clarity. I’ve sat in rooms where entire sermons carried no truth about the gospel. I’ve heard messages that were loud, but not clear. Rooms where people shouted “Amen” and still left confused. Nine times out of ten, I walk away thinking: “What if we told the story of Jesus in a way people could actually relate? Like a real person, in a real world, with real love?”

That question became a burden. And that burden eventually became this blog.

The Slingshots was born from a place deep inside me, from the belief that God still uses small things to shake big things. As a follower of Christ, everything is a pulpit for me and I am called to stand. And maybe this is one of the ways I am doing just that.

Here, I’ll be sharing my honest, unfiltered journey of faith; my story with Jesus in everyday life. The questions I wrestle with. The revelations I receive. The truths I learn. The convictions that change me. The funny, awkward, holy, broken, hopeful moments that shape me. This isn’t about presenting a picture-perfect faith. It’s about showing that faith in Jesus Christ is real, relatable, and still revolutionary.

I started The Slingshots because I’ve seen how many people, especially young believers, struggle to maintain their relationship with God. They have Questions. A lot of them. Doubts. Struggles. They laugh loudly, mess up often, and wonder if their walk with God even makes sense. You may be reading this and thinking “that sounds like me”.

Guess what? You are not alone.

“Then he took his staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch… and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine.”
1 Samuel 17:40 (NIV)

David didn’t need Saul’s armor. He just needed what God had already placed in his hand. And that’s what The Slingshots is for me; a space for what’s in my hand. A place where I bring my real story, trusting that God can use it to do more than I ever could on my own.

We may not all be pastors or bishops, but we all carry testimonies. Testimonies are our slingshots.

The Slingshots is more than a blog; it’s a call to be bold with our stones. Our stories might be the very thing that set someone else free. We don’t need to be famous. We don’t need to be flawless. We just need to aim with faith.

God isn’t asking me to be a giant. I just need to be willing to sling what’s in my hand.

Welcome to The Slingshots.

Let’s knock some giants down…. one honest story at a time.
